What is a Virtual Assistant?

A virtual assistant (VA) is a highly skilled professional that provides administrative & business support services via telecommunications.  Such as E-mail,  Internet, PC Anywhere, Fax, Disk/CD's, and the standard U.S. mail.  VA's typically obtained the majority of their experience by first working in a corporate office environment, where they learned to handle a multitude of tasks.   Previous positions held for instance would be: Executive Assistant / Personal Assistant to senior management, handling everything from appointment scheduling to complex presentation materials and interacting with additional senior management and subordinates.
